Is It The End Of Web 2.0 Or Just The End Of The Hype?

"We have absolutely no interest in funding Web 2.0 companies," says Randy Komisar, a partner at Kleiner Perkins.
Is the end of ‘web 2.0’ finally here? It very well could be. I’ve noticed that it’s just not as fun to say ‘web 2.0’ as it used to be. The term began as an O’Reilly marketing gimmick, after all. I don’t think that the value of web 2.0 services has diminished at all. (Although there is obviously a great deal of niche saturation going on.) The SVW article has a good point when it states that a better name might be ‘internet 2.0’. There does seem to be a trend in moving away from the world wide web as a means for providing data to the user. Think RSS, for example. So, the question is, what do you call a ‘web 2.0’ company that has grown up? What will we call the ones left standing once the funding stops and everyone has to make their own money?
