  • This Lifehacker article is a great introduction to Linux app Wine 1.0. This app lets you run Windows software on a PC that’s running a free open source Linux operating system. In other words, this is one less reason to pay for expensive and wasteful commercial software.

  • After reading the Dowload Squad post on Fav.or.it, it seemed like a good way to catch up on a lot of blogs in a short time, and I liked how easily sharing was with Fav.or.it. After spending the better part of an hour setting up my profile and sharing settings and learning the layout, I’m disappointed. It works fine. It’s easy to use. It’s not an RSS reader and Google reader slaps it up and down the block.
