Meet Me At eHub

Posted by telecommatt on July 9, 2007

I am happy to announce that the ever-popular web2.0 website eHub has launched an expansive upgrade today. The new eHub v2 will retain the simplicity and consistency that are strengths of Emily Chang’s original vision. But with the addition of a new team of editors, eHub v2 will be able to go much more in depth with reviews and interviews.

Emily Chang - eHub

I am even happier to announce that I will be a part of eHub v2’s editorial team! I am extremely proud of (and a little humbled by) the caliber of my co-editors. As a team, we come from many walks of life and many continents. One of the most exciting thing about web2.0 is the ease with which I can collaborate with a team in many different locations and in as many different time zones.

It looks like I’ll be coming out with an article every week or so. Please join me out at eHub and let me know what you think!

Emily Chang – Blog: eHub Announces New Editors

As most of you know, I’ve been flying solo on eHub since it launched as the first Web 2.0 list back in Oct 2005. It’s been a thrill and both personally and professionally gratifying to maintain a resource that’s used widely. eHub has over 400,000 page views a month and reaches 14,000 daily RSS subscribers and growing weekly. Our audience is diverse and includes users of all types: startups, bloggers, developers, VC, designers, technologists, CEOs, librarians, parents, students, news media… the list goes on.

Diigo and the Social Web

Posted by telecommatt on February 24, 2007

I just noticed that there has been no Diigo Auo-Post since, oh, Feb, 4th! Sorry about that all! For some reason the job I set up has stopped jobbing. I think I’ve corrected it. Also, I made some changes to my sidebar. You can quicky view my last 10 Diigo bookmarks or subscribe directly to a feed of my Diigomarks using the sidebar to the right of the page. Feedback on this is appreciated!

You can see, I use Diigo A LOT. I’ve posted previously about Diigo’s bookmarking and annotation service, but I must say, again, that I feel it’s truly a gem of the social internet! I love the toolbar, (alas, I’m, using Opera at the moment, so I must settle for the bookmarklet) the annotation features are killer, and the “blog this” option has been a huge time-saver for me. I’ve had a few issues, as with the Auto-Post, but I think it’s great that when I need help and cannot find an answer in the forums, I get a personal response from the Diigo crew. I can handle growing pains If I know I’m being helped. My only suggestion for them would be to take care of the lag on their server. The load times off their site can be extruciating.

I believe that this is what the social internet should be: customizable web applications + community + live people behind the app. Despite a few minor annoyances, Diigo embodies all of these. Great job guys!

Welcoming A New Contributor

Posted by telecommatt on February 4, 2007

I’d like to welcome a new contributor to Matt’s Cuppa. Anne B has been following many of the same topics I cover for many years. She will be showing up occasionally to add a bit of commentary, temper my unbridled opinion, and cover topics that are important to people who aren’t geeks. Welcome Anne B!

The autopost…

Posted by telecommatt on November 5, 2006

I’m obviously testing an autopost feature, so sorry about the double postings. Once I tune things a bit, it will make this space much more active though. My problem is that I tag sites and articles all day long and never have time to actually blog them. So, now you can see what I’m tagging and I have more time actually tagging. Sweet!
